  • Alobwed’Epie was born at Ngomboku, Tombel Sub-Division, Kupe/Muanenguba Division S.W. Region ofCameroon. He studied at the University of Yaounde; obtained the BA, and “BEA” degrees in English and moved to Leeds University in England, where he obtained his Masters in Folkloristic and Dialectology. While in Leeds, he became infatuated with English folklore-ancient buildings, artifacts, songs (especially the ballad), soul music and Negro spirituals. Upon his return from Leeds, he enrolled for the PhD in English language studies but with a tilt more on Folkloristic which influenced his choice of topic - The Language of Traditional Medicine.

The topic was so multidisciplinary that it did not only yield data for its main focus (who spoke what language to whom, where, when, why and how; or the psychological impact of Language on its speakers) but also for literary creativity. After defending his PhD, Alobwed’Epie embarked on using literary data in poetry and created the Yaounde University Poetry Club. He soon realized that poetry was too restrictive as a channel of communication with his targeted audience. So, he switched to novel writing.

His published works include The Death Certificate, The Lady with a Beard, The Day God Blinked, The Lady with a Sting, The Bad Samaritan, What Next of Kin? Exhumed, Tried & Hanged, She seized the Balls, Patching the Broken Dream. He has also published a collection of poems titled Poems of Debacle
