Virtually every individual, group or nation is concerned about issues ofdevelopment. Too, everyone can contribute to meaningful development in one way or the other. But because many live their entire life time without discovering their innate potential, they end up not making commensurate contribution to the development ofeven their immediate community. Development is therefore retarded when so much potential is locked up and gets wasted at the end of every life. The role that the politics of every nation plays in mobilizing citizens and awakening their consciousness to fully participate in the development process cannot be under estimated. This is the main focus ofthis book. The essays are designed to free the reader’s imagination; sharpen the reader’s critical thinking; and open his or her eyes to better analyse their own socio-political happenings. The essays run through a gamut ofissues from analysis ofpersonalities to communal, national and international issues. They will help unlock your own potential and permit you to do better in whatever area ofactivity you are best gifted.

Ntiamba was born in Ayaoke, Eyumojock Sub - Division ofManyu division, South West region of Cameroon. He started primary school in Otu, one of the neighbouring villages to Ayaoke but ended finishing that level of education at St. Martin’s Primary School, Kembong, another village in Eyumojock Sub - Division. After primary school, Ntiamba proceeded to St. Joseph’s College Sasse, Buea, South West region but ended up getting his GCE ‘O’ Level at Government High School Mamfe. He crossed over to Nigeria where he did a certificate course in Local Government Administration and Finance at the now Cross River State Management Development Institute, Calabar, before proceeding to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he obtained a Diploma in the same field. He worked briefly as an accounting officer before going for further studies. He started again at the then School of Basic Studies, SBS Akamkpa, now Cross River State College of Education. At SBS, Akamkpa, he sat for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB exams, passed and again entered University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Anthropology. After graduation, he picked up a job with the Cross River State Newspaper Corporation, publishers of the Chronicle Group of newspaper and worked as an editor with the Nigerian Chronicle. He went on in service training and backed a diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja. While working with the Nigerian Chronicle, Ntiamba enrolled at the University of Calabar and for two years studied Development Sociology. He came back to Cameroon and worked with the defunct Herald Newspaper before leaving for Europe. In Europe, he had a briefstay in Germany before proceeding to Austria, where he studied the German language. Since Ntiamba came back to Yaounde in 2014, he has been working as an editor with The Guardian Post Newspaper. Apart from academic and working professions, Ntiamba is a folklore artist; a composer offolklore music and speaks five languages fluently. They include Ejagham, Efik, English, French and German. Ntiamba is a lover of sports; a humanitarian and is married with children.
